Katrina propped the door open with a foot as she dragged her suitcase into the office. The case's wheels had started to lock up, making it a pain to move around. She paused in the middle of the doorway, hands wrapped tightly around the handle as she looked around. Already she was being bombarded with ideas of getting back on the ship and heading off somewhere else. Johto was number one on her list thanks to the region's lore and history. Alola would be a lot of fun, too. Nothing could beat it's beaches....
Letting out a long, deep breath, Katrina made her way to the desk. Yes, after running around like a hyper Electrike for the past few years settling down was going to be a big change. Change had it's positives, though.
"Hello. I'm here to start a ranch."

She gave off a yawn and a stretch, eyeing the suitcase that was being dragged across the floor as she fully sat up. The stranger called a greeting and the Ninetales reiterated it with a bark towards the back of the office.
"I hear you," was the response, and Kristen emerged from the back with a smile towards the redhead. "Hello! I'm Kris Parker. Did I hear right in that you wish to start a ranch?"
She hoped so, considering the young woman before her had a suitcase and everything. Kristen moved to gather some of the paperwork, including a map of the island for the woman to help get the process started.
With her smile growing, Kristen asked, "Is there anything specific you wish to ask or comment about with starting a ranch, or shall I give you my spiel?"

Or she could start out in Kanto and then take that 300 mile per hour maglev train to.....
Her thoughts were shattered to pieces by a bark. The source was a canid Pokemon, it's nine tails elegantly folded out. She waved at the employee that entered the room shortly after. Time to focus.
"Yep. I heard about this place from a couple I met while staying at a bed and breakfast. They ran a ranch for twelve years and just spoke so fondly about all of the memories," Katrina explained with a small smile. "So I've decided to give it a try."
Katrina averted her gaze as she tried to recall some of the more technical aspects that were brought up during the conversations with the ex-ranchers. Supposedly you got your first few acres free. Lots of free supplies, such as food and medicine, were added on top, atleast until your ranch started to pick up some steam.
Unaware that her fingers were literally crossed in hope that she was getting the facts straight, Katrina continued on. "From what I know, opening up a ranch here on the island is pretty simple. You get some free land. Some free supplies. Good thing too, because I am a complete newbie at ranchimg and could as much help as I can get."

"Where did they used to have a ranch, out of curiosity? Gaia Island here is still new, admittedly. There are a handful of ranches so far, but everyone is friendly. Before moving out here, I ran a ranch on the outskirts of Solaceon Town in the Sinnoh region. Kurt Emerson -- he's the other head of the island -- was one of the longest employees we had there. Both of us will always be around if you need help with anything while getting your own ranch up and running."
She gave the stranger a smile and said, "Not quite. There is a fee for the land and if you have any of your own Pokemon you're importing to be sure you have some of the necessary starting supplies. For your first acre of land, it's $1000. Additional acres are $500. A two-bedroom cottage for yourself and a barn for your Pokemon are included with that price. Still interested?"
Kris hoped so. Anything to keep Gaia Island growing.
"By the way, what shall I call you?" Kris asked, realizing that she hadn't heard the young woman's name just yet.
