To ensure an enjoyable roleplaying experience for everyone, we would like these rules to be followed. If there is a question or suggestion, please do not hesitate to PM an administrator.
1.) Respect. We ask that everyone respects everyone else on this forum. Avoid touchy subjects such as religion and politics, and do not discriminate against others for any reason. Everyone is here to have fun and enjoy the game.
2.) Site Rating. As per Proboards' Terms of Service, this site is rated PG-13. This pertains to swearing/cussing, violence/gore, and sexual themes. Violence and a touch of blood may be a part of this site, dealing with battles of powerful creatures, yet graphic description will not be allowed. Sexual references and themes must be light -- light kissing, flirting, and very mild touching are the extent to which these scenes can be role-played. Anything that is above the site rating that players want to role-play must be role-played elsewhere, such as e-mail or instant messaging.
3.) Posts. This is a literate site. While there is no posting requirement, please do your best to match your role-playing partner's post -- if your partner posted 100 words, then you post around 100 words. Make your posts as descriptive and engaging as possible -- use all of a character's senses, play off of the environment, do whatever you must to keep the creative juices flowing in a thread.
4.) Plagiarism. Please only create and role-play original characters and events on the site.
5.) Accounts. Each human character should have his/her own account, and each account should have a human character attached to it. Each account's display name should be the human character's first and last name with proper capitalization to be uniformed with the site.
6.) Characters. There is no limit on the number of characters a role-player may create. However, every character should remain active. Should you wish to drop a character, please contact an admin to let us know.
- First Account. Each member's first character should be a beginner in his/her/their respective chosen profession. After posting in-character for at least 15 posts with the beginner character, the next character may be more advanced in his/her/their career. Please see the Advanced Characters for more information.
- Profiles. Each human character should have his/her/their own profile thread. Fill out the profile form correctly and literately, and you should have no problem getting it accepted by a staff member. Each Pokemon character will get a mini profile form to be created and added to its human's bio thread as well.
- Pokemon Characters. The "main characters" of this site are the humans (ranchers, gym challengers, and coordinators). However, members are allowed to create and role-play as Pokemon that are under the care of other members' characters. Each Pokemon has its own profile form and the post of the Pokemon's form will be attached to the human character's main profile. Before playing a Pokemon, a member must have his/her/their own human character to role-play around the forum. If a member wishes to role-play a Pokemon under a different member's human character, the member playing the Pokemon must stick to one human account -- if they have multiple -- to always play that particular Pokemon to avoid confusion and money-earning issues.
- God-modding/Power-playing. Members are to only role-play as their own characters, and their characters must not be invincible.
- Frozen Characters. We do offer the option to "freeze" characters. If you believe you do not have enough muse or time to keep up with all your characters, but do not want to outright delete any of your accounts, we can bump a character into the "frozen" group with a story regarding the character's absence from the Gaia Island world. The character will be deleted from the claims, making the character at risk of losing his/her face, and any of the character's Pokemon that were played by other members will be reassigned to another rancher/trainer/coordinator. Whenever you wish to pick the character up again, just let a staff member know and we will return the character and his/her information into the Gaia Island world.
7.) Setting and Time. We do employ liquid time here, allowing characters to be in more than one thread if they need be. However, please keep in mind your character's personal timeline. On that note, please do keep your journeys to be fairly linear. Your character should not go from Greenberry Town to Diamond City within the span of two threads.
8.) Activity. A role-playing site only lives as long as the members of the site continue to keep it alive by role-playing. We ask that members do their best to post in-character with all of their accounts at least once or twice a week. Away messages in the appropriate board are appreciated if you know you will be going away for some time. Generally speaking, a member has a minimum of two months to return to us if the member did not put up an away message, or his/her accounts will be deleted.
Violated rules can result in warnings and temporary or permanent bans. These rules are subject to change without notice. Thank you.
