"Good day. My name is Morgan. Is there something I can help you with...?"

Silverstone Valley is a ranch dedicated mostly to the Pokemon types of Psychic, Ice, and Steel. Morgan herself has grown up with those types of Pokemon, granting her a special store of knowledge regarding these species and assuring customers of her competence. She is happy to provide breeding services and eggs to good homes. Her prices are listed below, but she is up for negotiations with the costs and the placement of eggs.

>> To breed with one of Morgan's stud Pokemon, the fee depends on the class of the species of the Pokemon and the eggs will stay with the mother Pokemon. Common studs are $500, Uncommon are $1000, and Rare are $1500.

>> To breed with one of Morgan's female Pokemon, the same rules apply wherein the trainer will pay for the breeding service and get one egg, while the rest of the clutch will remain with Morgan. Any other eggs will be full price. The price is $250 to breed with a Common female, $500 for Uncommon, and $750 for Rare.

>> The price to breed with a genderless Pokemon is the same as above depending on whether it is used as a stud or female Pokemon.

>> To petition for an egg from a clutch where both Pokemon are from Morgan's ranch, the fee for breeding is $700 for one free egg of the clutch. Other eggs will be full price.

There was a newer stall opened at Gaia Island's marketplace since John's last visit, and to see the island grow was fantastic to him. The shop seemed quite new, in fact, with only a few Pokemon available for breeding. All the Pokemon were young themselves, it seemed, even if they were old enough to have a clutch or two.

There was only one stud available, but two potential mother Pokemon. John tried to figure out what other species may be good for starting Pokemon as he waited for the rancher to appear.

Morgan was a bit surprised, to say the least, to see a gentleman standing before her shop. She made sure she was presentable, brushing any loose hair behind her ears and back, before greeting him with a smile.

"Hello," she said. "I'm Morgan Porter. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

That sounded fine, right?

"Good day, Miss." John took off his hat and gave Morgan a small nod of his head in greeting. With a grin, he said, "I'm looking to do a little business with your available Pokemon.

"My name is John Cordue," he said, introducing himself, "and I'm the first assistant to Professor Cypress over on Ascua's mainland. We give out supplies to new trainers, including starter Pokemon that we raise from eggs that were bought from ranches here. We figure it's a good way to support each other, you see."

He paused once more before ultimately deciding. "If it's agreeable to your Pokemon and yourself, I'm hoping for an egg or two from your Meditite and Gothita."

"Oh!" Morgan wasn't quite expecting the assistant of Ascua's professor to come knocking. Nonetheless, she gave him a smile and greeted him with, "It's wonderful to meet you, Mr. Cordue."

He spoke about a couple of her Pokemon making a clutch of eggs, and Morgan knew that this was the reason why she opened her stall in the first place. Of course, her Pokemon were still a little young, but they were old enough to have eggs together. Vivi and Horos got along well enough, so Morgan was sure they would be able to make a clutch together.

"That sounds fine," Morgan said, hunting around for a notepad to jot down Mr. Cordue's details. Perhaps she should actually create a formal invoice or something. "It's $700 for a free egg from a clutch, and all other eggs will be full-priced. Is that okay?" She probably shouldn't be asking if it was okay, but she didn't want to sound rude or anything.

John hadn't quite meant to surprise the woman, but he kept his genial smile in place and the pair were able to make easy small-talk in addition to their business.

Ms. Porter mentioned that the clutch John had in mind should be fine and she gave her price. Rather, she asked John about her price, as if he had any say in the matter. Vaguely, John wondered if he was her first customer, so to speak, and guessed that it was so considering how young and few her Pokemon seemed.

"Absolutely," John said, taking out his wallet for the initial transaction. If there was another egg in the clutch that he or the professor would like, he'd pay for that accordingly when the time came. "You're the boss, Miss," he added with a good-natured chuckle. "It's a pleasure doing business with you. I imagine we'll see each other again."

Morgan Porter, sent over $700 for at least the first egg.

Morgan thanked Mr. Cordue again for his business and was sure to put his contact information in a safe place. She did her best not to flush at the idea of her being the boss of her little shop, but she supposed the professor's assistant wasn't wrong.

This was her life, her career. She was in charge.

Morgan took a deep breath, smiled to herself, then tried to figure out how to breach the subject of eggs with her Pokemon for the professor's lab.

Gaia Island itself was nice, with plenty of biomes most likely holding all sorts of wild Pokemon in their depths. If Sadie wasn't on a mission to start her gym challenge and had stronger Pokemon, she probably would have taken the time to explore the island more.

She'd be able to do that after she entered the Hall of Fame.

The marketplace itself was intriguing and Sadie found herself inspecting the shops. The Gaia Ranch shop was the biggest and, actually, had been a bit overwhelming. There had been a couple of eggs that Sadie would have been interested in, but she was also being conscious of her money. Riverrock Acres was where her Phanpy had come from and, while she was sure she would have gotten another great Pokemon from that shop, Sadie did want to explore her options.

That left her with Silverstone Stall and Sadie liked the sound of the types that the shop specialized in. It did seem much newer than the other two shops, having only a handful of young Pokemon and egg types available, but that helped Sadie with her decision. She honestly was thinking of going for the Gothita egg, but the slightly more expensive Meditite egg caught her eye.

It only took a moment for Morgan to appear in the front of the shop, having thought she had heard the door. Morgan hadn't been expecting any visitors, although every shop owner hoped to see a customer or two during the day, of course.

Morgan greeted the blonde with a smile (and did her best not to be intimidated by the tall, lean woman). "Hello," Morgan greeted. "I'm Morgan Porter. Is there something I can help you with?"

She noticed that the woman was eyeing the eggs that Morgan had on display, and she hoped that if the woman wanted to purchase one, that it would be going to a good home. Vivi had been tired for a little while after having the clutch (understandable, of course), but she didn't seem to have much of a maternal instinct when it came to the eggs.

Maybe it was a Pokemon thing, maybe they left their mothers as soon as they hatched. Maybe it was just Vivi's personality. Either way, Morgan herself seemed more inclined to wonder about the eggs' fates when they were purchased. Should she be conducting interviews? Asking about the buyers' backgrounds? Perhaps she'd ask Kris or Kurt one day...

A woman probably close to Sadie's age appeared, calm and unassuming. Nearly the opposite of Sadie herself, actually.

Ms. Morgan Porter introduced herself and Sadie nodded a greeting. "I'm Sadie Fox," she said. "A pleasure.

"I was curious if I could purchase one of your Meditite eggs," she continued, getting down to business and making her decision simultaneously. "I'm just starting my gym challenge and believe that a Meditite raised from an egg will be a great asset to my team."

She did pause a moment before pointing to the egg that was priced just a touch higher than the rest of the eggs. The shop's notes indicated that higher-priced eggs may hide egg moves or shiny status. "I was thinking of that one if it's not spoken for already."

Straight and to the point, but polite. Morgan could definitely deal with Sadie and, in fact, was grateful for the other woman's way of doing business.

Pleased that she even got a little background on Sadie and her plans for the egg, Morgan felt a bit more comfortable about selling the egg to Sadie. Morgan had to admit, it was a little exciting to think that the hatchling of two of her Pokemon may end up on a team that even reached the Hall of Fame for the gym challenge!

"It's not spoken for at all," Morgan said, giving Sadie a smile. "Thank you for your interest. As you can see, that egg is $400."

"Perfect." Sadie returned Morgan's smile with a small one of her own as she got out her money for the transaction. Sadie's pack had a small pouch in the front, one that was just the right size for a Pokemon egg to be nestled and warm until it was ready to hatch.

Truth be told, Sadie was a little nervous when it came to raising a Pokemon from an egg. She mentally berated herself, of course, considering how many Pokemon Sadie had raised before during her journeys. Okay, so she never had a freshly hatched Pokemon, but... how difficult could they be to raise, really?

"Thank you very much," Sadie said, ready to leave once the egg was secure in her pack. After a pause, Sadie figured it would be best to swap phone numbers with Morgan. "To keep in touch, if you'd like, so I can let you know how the Pokemon is doing."

The transaction was quick and mostly painless. It was a little bittersweet to see eggs from her Pokemon's first clutch go.

"Thank you again," Morgan said after she helped Sadie get the egg situated.
Sadie then offered to swap phone numbers, and Morgan agreed, figuring it wouldn't hurt.

Morgan smiled and left Sadie with a, "Good luck with your journey!"

Raphael could justify spending just a touch more money if it helped out his fellow ranchers. Case in point was Silverstone Stall, run by one a rancher that Raphael hadn't really spoken to just yet. Of course, he did nearly run off to the Safari Zone almost as soon as he got settled in his ranch instead of, you know, being social with others, but he digressed.

Raphael entered the little shop, finding not much on display, but he was game to buy one of the eggs. He stood by the display case, hands in his pockets, patiently waiting for the rancher in charge to make an appearance.

A large, unfamiliar man was standing in her shop's entrance.

"Hello," Morgan greeted politely. She stayed on her side of the counter after emerging from the back from hearing the front door. She had expected maybe Kris or Kurt, perhaps the professor or her assistant, although a family of three tourists had briefly visited her shop the other day. The child had kept trying to knock on the egg display case, either expecting the eggs themselves to jump or to break the case.

Refocusing on the man in front of her, she said, "My name is Morgan. How can I help you?"
