Description: Raphael is of average height but is solidly built with muscles. He tends to work out with his Pokemon, and it shows. Clothes that are comfortable and clean are how he chooses what to wear. He's the kind of rugged, good-looking guy with auburn hair just long enough to catch a breeze. His green eyes complete the picture.
Personality: Upon first impression, Raphael may seem like an arrogant jerk with his dry sense of humor and stubborn tendencies. He's confident in his abilities as a person, but fairly aloof when it comes to actually dealing with people. He's more of a lone wolf than a social butterfly, but he can be a team player -- he'll be the strong, tough guy whenever the need arises. In fact, he can be very protective of those he calls friends and family.
History: Raphael was born to a family in Vermilion City, Kanto, and grew up helping out around the small Pokemon Day Care that his parents -- Clayton and Harper Green -- ran. Raphael never had any inclination to get his Pokemon license, let alone go out on a journey. His younger sister Jessica was a different story; she gained her license at ten-years-old, but left for the first leg of her journey after studying for a couple of more years. Raphael liked sticking around home, but eventually, his parents convinced him to go explore the world ("Find a girlfriend," was one of his father's specific instructions), and Raphael trudged out of his home to get away from their nagging.
His parents allowed him to have one of the Charmander they usually reserved for Professor Oak and his beginner trainers, and off Raphael went. He never had any specific goals in mind, but enjoyed the training aspect of getting his Pokemon to be stronger. He and his team took on a few gym leaders here and there to test their strength, but they mostly just wandered about the known regions. Raphael actually passed by Jessica several times throughout their separate journeys, and they continue to keep in touch. Eventually, Raphael heard of Sinnoh's Gaia Ranch, thought, "Why not?" and joined it with a few of his best Pokemon.
When the head of Gaia Ranch moved to the island, Raphael took a break to return home for a while. It wasn't too long before he began to feel stifled from his parents' little breeding center (and laments about why he hadn't brought a girl home yet), so he took off again to rejoin Kristen on her island to take the opportunity to raise his own ranch, figuring that Gaia Island would be the best place to grow.
Goals & Mod Permissions: Raphael is most interested in exploration and growing stronger, as well as learning more about Electric and Rock type Pokemon. He's trying to figure out where he stands in the world as well. Mods can use his Pokemon and characters from his history as they see fit.
Starting Position: Advanced - 6
Other: Raphael is pretty relaxed in terms of Pokemon types, although he's not one to cater to "baby" Pokemon and prefers to raise Pokemon that have an emphasis on battle moves. He's doing his best to learn how to be a proper "parent" to young hatchlings, and nicknames tend to be of the "whatever pops into his mind" variety.
