Coconut successfully plucked the Sitrus berries without disturbing the Slakoth. In fact, the Slakoth gave a very slow wave to the Aipom before curling back up and beginning to snore.

Meanwhile, the Indeedee seemed to turn shy when Kurt turned his attention to her, but she did give him a small smile and a sort of bow. She didn't really come closer, but instead seemed to waiting for something to happen.

Kurt had no idea what the Indeedee was waiting for.

The trainer gave Coconut a nod of thanks when his Aipom returned with the trio of berries, and Coconut stared in confusion at the Indeedee. Kurt was beginning to feel the same way.

After a moment, though, Kurt did offer the Indeedee one of the Sitrus berries. "This what you want?" Kurt asked. Straightening up, he cast the wild Pokemon a crooked smile and said, "Or a battle?"

The Indeedee politely shook her head when she was offered the berry, but her eyes lit up when Kurt mentioned a battle. She actually got into position and seemed poised, ready to fight after Kurt released an opponent for her.

Well. If a battle is what the Indeedee wanted, then Kurt was happy to oblige.

"Coconut," he said, his Aipom still on his shoulder after returning with the Sitrus berries. "Why don't you give it a go?"

Coconut stared at the Indeedee momentarily before giving a small nod and leaping down from his trainer's shoulder to face the wild Pokemon. At Kurt's command, Coconut started the battle with a Swift attack.

Kurt watched as the Swift hit the Indeedee, making her skid backwards along the shoreline but not relenting. She released a Psybeam, a pinkish beam of light shooting at Coconut and making his Aipom skid as well. Kurt figured there was a small level difference between the two -- Coconut didn't look particularly harmed.

"Fury Swipes," was Kurt's next command, and Coconut didn't hesitate. Coconut only hit the Indeedee twice, but it seemed to be just enough to make her wobble. She tried to do another Psybeam, and Coconut took it like a champ.

Instead of continuing the battle, however, Kurt threw his last Level Ball at the Indeedee.

The Indeedee, even though she was breathing heavily, seemed to smile as the Level Ball gently hit her on the head. The ball shook only once before going still and signalling the capture.

Well, would you look at that.

Kurt was somewhat surprised at the Indeedee allowing herself to be caught. Granted, she was a bit hurt from the battle, but she initiated the battle herself. Kurt gave Coconut a pet on the head, praising the Aipom, before picking up the Indeedee's Pokeball. Kurt didn't know much about the species at all, so some research was definitely in order. Still, she must have sensed something about Kurt and his team to be so open with them.

"Why don't we start heading back home?" Kurt said to Coconut. The Aipom clamored up to his shoulder and Kurt called out to Jello and Brie. They had a couple of new teammates to get settled at the ranch.
