Description: Katrina is tall and lithe, with brown eyes and thick red hair that reaches past her shoulder blades. When she's busy working, she likes to pull it up into a ponytail. The rest of the time it hangs loose. When it comes to clothing, comfort beats style twofold. Katrina's general wardrobe consists of blue jeans, athleisure wear, and a collection of tacky tourist t-shirts from various places around Unova.
Personality: Katrina tries her hardest to remain nice and calm. She understands that that you win over more hearts with sugar than you do with spice. It's just that she finds this rule so much easier to follow when dealing with Pokemon than it is with other people. As stubborn as a rock and generally uncaring about other's opinions of her, it's easy for Katrina to let the little things bounce off without leaving much of a mark behind. Remain on her good side to reveal a fun and cheerful friend. Someone who is easy to talk to. Who loves a good laugh. But push her buttons one too many times and you'll be able to meet the passion and rage that lurks underneath that chillax persona.
History: Katrina had a good childhood. Nothing much to complain about. Her father was a trainer at Nacrene City, ever loyal Patrat always by his side, while her mom co-ran a small Pokemon grooming service with an old friend. As a kid, Katrina spent much of her time with her grandparents, her dad's Ma and Pa. Her dad spent a lot of time working, while her mom was prone to disappearing for days at a time, with little explanation of where she was going and why. Their cabin tucked away at the edge of Pinwheel Forest, Katrina will always have fond memories of fishing the lake tucked in the middle of the forest and racing up and down Skyarrow Bridge. And even though her Grandma always harbored a deep hatred of her mom, often saying she was such a horrible parent and that her son deserved better, she never took that anger out on Katrina.
Shortly after the occurrence of a robbery at Nacrene's natural history museum, they packed up and left the city behind. According to her mom, Nacrene was becoming too run down and dangerous, and she didn't want Katrina to have to grow up in such an environment. Her dad staying behind so that he could continue his job, Katrina and her mom drifted around south Unova, never settling in one place for too long. Then, out of nowhere, Katrina was dropped off at her grandparent's house.
Katrina couldn't get any clear answers as to what was happening. Why had her mom just up and left her behind? Her dad, now living back at home with his parents, told her that she was doing something very important. Everyone else just gave her a shrug along with a 'no idea'. It was around this time that Katrina caught her first Pokemon. Well, okay. 'Caught' isn't the correct word. Befriended would be a better description. She 'befriended' a Cottonee who was absolutely addicted to pastries. It was also around this time that Team Plasma was taken down. Apart from a few stories of people getting their Pokemon stolen by them, Katrina didn't know a lot about them. Nonetheless, she could sense the wave of relief that flooded Unova.
Her mother popped back up a few months later, the huge bags under her eyes making her look like she hadn't slept in ages. Moving to Nimbasa City was a big help in lifting both mom and daughter's spirit. Katrina and her Cottonee, Marigold, lolligagged around town, occasionally dragging her mom along to watch a play at the theater. Her father was able to get a job at the local gym, while her mom eventually set up a small booth at the Driftveil market and started selling incense oils. Every now and then her Mom would wear a a strange piece of clothing to work. A 'tabard' is what she called it, white as snow with a strange shield-shaped symbol adorning it's center. During those days her mom would give any money that she managed to earn over to a man who looked like he was older than fossil Pokemon.
It didn't take Katrina long to figure out what was going on: Why her mom would get sneers and rude comments directed towards her whenever she was wearing that tabard. Who the old man was. Why she would occasionally spot other people dressed up in similar manner, especially around the old man's house. Come to find out, her mom was a member of Team Plasma. Though the group was officially disbanded, a few devotees continued to stick together to help clean up the mess that the team had left behind and all of that money that her mom kept on giving away was being used to buy the supplies needed to help abandoned Pokemon. She also realized that Team Plasma was more than just a band of miscreants and petty thieves. No. They had a good and noble cause worth fighting for.
As she's gotten older, Katrina has been hit by a powerful urge to get out and stretch her legs. She's spent these last few years travelling around Unova, trying to sort out what she wants to do with her life now that she's entering adulthood. A lot of ideas have come and gone, but none have really caught her interest. So she's decided to head out to a new region and see what opportunities await her.
Goals & Mod Permissions: Ultimately, she'd like to create a safe haven this is welcome to any and all Pokemon. But for now, helping out just one single Pokemon in any way possible is considered a big win in Katrina's book.
Permissions: Yep. Do what you want to do.
Starting Position: Just beginning The only thing that she's brought with her is a small suitcase packed full with essentials.
Other: Once while wandering around the Desert Resort, a Baltoy began to spin around her while humming loudly. This continued until Katrina was almost back to Nimbasa, at which point a Sandile popped up and chansed the Baltoy away.
My member name is BLITZ, and I also play no other character yet.
