hi, you're cool, wanna get bubble tea? @tag On the bright side, at least she didn't get lost.
Nettie looked down at her cell-phone, and let out a small frustrated sigh. The signal wasn't the best here, and it wasn't letting her load the map application on the screen. It was stuck with the single, circular, symbol for a while now, and it didn't seem like it would reveal information soon. She supposed that it was typical, especially in small towns like Greenberry. It seems that she was going to have to look for the lab without her phone. But with how big and famous the lab was, there was no way that she was going to miss it. The indigo haired girl looked up, craning her neck before her eyes landed on a building in the distance. That should be it! With how small the other houses are, that building is bound to be the lab right?
"Come on Cherry, we're almost there!" She said, trying to nudge the pink cat that was asleep on the perch on her bag. Cherry didn't really look quite happy to be woken up, and so let out a warning hiss, snapping towards her trainer before closing an eye. The tip of her tail twitched, indicating that the cat was irritable at the moment.
"Don't be like that." Nettie sighed softly, looking on ahead and continuing to walk. She supposed that she could deal with her Skitty later--she had read that Pokemon and human relationships were built on mutual respect. Cherry should be bound to respect her soon... right? They were going to have to learn how to trust each other. After all, they were going to spend the next several decades together. The person who had sold Cherry did give Nettie a head's up, so she knew that she had to be patient. But how much longer does she have to wait?
Her thoughts were drowned out as she continued to walk down the gravelled path. Most of the day had spent travelling. The ferry ride from the Sinnoh to Ascua Region took a while, but Nettie was finally glad to be here. She found it to be a quaint pretty town, full of old-fashioned houses and wide open fields. Nettie supposed she could stay here a night or two, before she went on to exploring this region. After all, this region was cut off by the Greenberry woods. By the time she was done with the lab, it would be late enough for her to find some lodgings somewhere in the town.
Finally, she reached the lab. Up close, it was bigger than she expected it to be, and there were several people who Nettie saw in the distance milling about. She honestly felt quite lost. Cautiously, she stepped on the front porch, noticing the door was open. She slowly peeked in, eyeing the interior of the lab.
"Um... excuse me?" Nettie called, feeling her heart hammer in her chest. "I couldn't help but let myself in."
The ashy blue haired girl inched closer inside, trying to search for a face that she could possibly deem as familiar. There has to be Professor Cypress in here somewhere, right? Nettie needed some of the starting items required to start. She wouldn't mind getting a free Pokeball or two to start her journey off with.

@nettie "Here with the Komala Coffee? Perfect," a voice said from further into the lab in response to the girl's call. Sharp clicks of work boots echoed off the linoleum floor as a dark-skinned woman came into the room with a clipboard under her arm and her hands counting out money.
"Here, we got a lousy tip for today, but we'll make it up tomorrow--Oh!" The woman peered over the rim of her glasses at the girl in front of her, stating, "You're obviously not delivering coffee."
The woman cleared her throat, tried not to lament over not having coffee yet, stuffed the money into one of her lab pockets and put the clipboard down on a nearby table.
"Terribly sorry about that," she said. "It's been a bit hectic already today. I'm Professor Nia Cypress, head of Greenberry Labs. What can I help you with?"
The professor's tone was warm, her gaze darting from the girl's face to the snoozing Skitty and back again to the girl. Considering the Pokemon already with her, the professor was sure a starter Pokemon wasn't exactly what her visitor was looking for.

hi, you're cool, wanna get bubble tea? "Here with the Komala Coffee? Perfect,"
At the sound of the voice from the depths of the lab, Nettie's ears perked up. There was somebody inside! Maybe she could ask the person where the Professor was, and she could be on her way. With a small hesitant step, as Nettie inched closer through the doorway. She wasn't technically invited inside right? It wasn't as if she exactly had the Komala coffee. But either way, she was momentarily distracted by the interior of the lab. The lab was bigger than it looked like from the outside! And there were a lot different items that she had never seen before.
So much was her attention on the pile of books in the corner, she didn't notice the dark skinned woman until she spoke. "Ah!" Nettie jumped, almost feeling a little bit guilty. "Yeah, I'm sorry, I don't have your coffee but I'm here to look for the Professor--?" Her cerulean blue eyes narrowed as she took a look at the woman closely. She was the exact spitting image of the magazine cover of Ascua region! This would mean that--
"Why, you are the Professor!" The exclamation was out of her mouth before her brain finally finished processing it. At once, her lips curved into a wide smile. "Hi Professor Cypress! I'm Annette Skylar, from Hearthome in Sinnoh. It's so good to finally meet you. I think you are as pretty as you look on the edition of 'Guide to Pokemon Regions!" There was simply innocent child-like admiration in Nettie's voice, as she walked closer towards the direction of the Professor. "I was hoping that I could receive some starting items here."
She knew that she would have the option of being able to get a starter Pokemon, but she already had Cherry. Cherry who was right now waking up, and had decided to jump off Nettie's bag to land on the floor. The pink cat seemed very curious with the new environment that she was in, and had taken to sniffing around a pile of books in the corner.
"Ah Cherry, don't get too far." Nettie warned the pink cat, before turning her eyes back to Cypress. Only Arceus would know where the pink cat could go if Nettie was to keep her eye away from her. Cherry really disliked the Pokeball too, and this was the only compromise that Nettie could do with her.
Instead of listening with the trainer, Cherry simply stretched and ran one claw lightly on one of the books.

@nettie The girl apologized for not being the one delivering coffee before recognition dawned over her that she was, indeed, speaking with the Professor Cypress.
The professor, on her part, was going to reaffirm that, yes, she was Professor Cypress as she had introduced herself, before the girl brightened and shared her admiration for the professor.
Professor Cypress blinked at the praise, not expecting that at all, before sharing a warm smile.
"Why, thank you, Miss Skylar," the professor said. "It's always nice to hear such things, particularly for interviews like that. So much preparation goes into them, you know. That was probably one of my favorite interviews, to be honest. The journalist asked all relevant questions as opposed to peppering in questions about how I do my hair or make-up--"
"Shoos." A Gumshoos appeared from behind the corner of the books that Cherry was loitering by, the Gumshoos looming over the cat Pokemon. He stared down at Cherry and slowly scooted over to her, invading her space until he was between her and the books.
"Please be careful with those books," Professor Cypress told both Pokemon. As an aside to Annette, she added, "Those are borrowed from the museum in Revihs City."
She motioned for Annette -- and the Pokemon -- to follow her into a side room with a few computers. "Starting items for a journey? We can do that. Are you set up with the PC storage system somewhere? We can set you up for here if you'd like, and any extra Pokemon you catch will be well cared for here while you adventure."
The professor rummaged through a desk that was in the room and produced a packet of the typical starting items. "Here are the main reasons as to your visit, before I forget. A couple of potions, antidotes, and some pokeballs to get you started."

hi, you're cool, wanna get bubble tea? Mod Kris : hoping to end the thread here~ Huh? Who was that? While at first Cherry was quite curious at the presence of the new Pokemon, the fact that it was invading her personal space immediately sent her on edge. Cherry did not like her personal space being invaded, and she wasn't going to cower down and let this Pokemon do it. The Skitty wasn't in the most pleasant of moods either, after being woken up for the nap, so her reaction was much more... jumpy than usual. Cherry immediately arched her back, springing backwards. Her fur fluffed out, making her appear even larger and more threatening. The cat's pupil's dilated as she glared back at the Gumshoos. If the Gumshoos was to make another move towards her, she was going to propel herself straight at it with a tackle, and even Arceus wouldn't be able to stop her from doing it.
However, her trainer could.
Nettie had heard the first signs of the growl, and she immediately decided to intervene. With a quick hand, she grabbed the Skitty and now placed the struggling cat under her arm, ignoring the snaps and curses that Cherry was beginning to throw at her. Cherry was strong, and the strength of the trashes were already causing Nettie to struggle. "Sorry about that." She addressed the Professor, holding on tightly as she used her other arm to find Cherry's Pokeball. The last thing she wanted was her Skitty to start a brawl with the Professor's Pokemon and cause the entire lab to be wrecked. "She gets like that sometimes. But don't worry, I got this."
With a flash of light, the Skitty disappeared inside the Pokeball, despite all the complaints that were hurled at her trainer. The Pokeball shook several times, as the Skitty still continued to struggle, before it finally stood still. Nettie wiped the beads of sweat that were beginning to form on her forehead. Cherry was really like a loose bomb that would detonate any moment, and she knew that she had to be careful. Either way, she forced a smile now at the Professor. She was already very embarrassed at her Skitty's actions.
"Yes!" She said, wondering what she should say. Perhaps she could address the Professor's question. "I uh--yeah, my sister and I were able to set up the storage PC before we got here, although I don't think I'd be catching any Pokemon yet." Until I can tame my Skitty. The comment also went unsaid, as the Pokeball twitched again. It almost made Nettie wince. "But yes, starting items of the journey please."
She accepted the package of starting items, which included the Poekballs, potion and the antidotes. "I'm certainly going to make use of this." Nettie said, placing it inside her bag. She was quickly rapidly getting back to her initial bounce. "But thank you so much for your help Professor! I don't really think there's anything else though."
Nettie believed that it was soon to be her cue to go now that everything was done with the Professor. She didn't want to keep any other trainers waiting. "I think I'm going to say goodbye for now Professor. It's really pleasant meeting you." She gave a short, polite bow, before heading back to the door. "I hope we can meet again soon~"
With a soft click, Nettie was gone.

@nettie, perfect! Well, that was simple.
Professor Cypress smiled at Annette when it was revealed that she was already set up on the PC storage system. It was always nice when there was one less thing to do when helping out starting trainers.
Aside from the Skitty being a little... temperamental, which Professor Cypress put part of the blame on her Gumshoos for his actions, the new trainer seemed like she had a handle on her goals. The professor hoped that Annette wouldn't lose her enthusiasm during her adventure.
"You're very welcome," Professor Cypress said, walking Annette to the door. As the new trainer left, the professor waved after her, adding, "Good luck on your journey!"
Once the trainer was gone, Professor Cypress glanced down at Gumshoos. "You could have warned the Skitty, you know. I believe you startled her."
Gumshoos tilted his head for a moment before resuming his statue-like position, apparently unbothered. His species was known for their patience and stalwartness, and her Gumshoos was no exception. Still, Gumshoos didn't show many other emotions and even now it was sometimes difficult to figure out what he was thinking.
Ah, well. Professor Cypress gave her head a soft shake before resuming her work (and vaguely wondering where the lab's coffee delivery was).
