Male | Eighteen | Heterosexual | Trainer | Watarase Jun [Happiness?!]
::Description::
Running colors are usually black with colors of flowers; bright with wooden sandals with straps and long black socks. Hair is always flowing to below shoulder level and violet colored. Sleeves are widened, usually overlapping wrists and knuckles of the fingers. Edges of trimming of the opening below the waist is at the ankle level. Accessories include a pendant of a blossoming Gracadia that is usually hidden beneath the collar of his clothing. The style changes depending on the various presentations and whether he is working or not.
When in public, his style drapes completely over his body. When working, his clothing lacks the long trim and has a knee-length run of a cloth. The sleeves are wider than usual allowing him to move his hands. He moves in a way that makes it so that his clothing almost makes it appear as if he is floating. Consistently, he may wear types of accessories that keep the theme of flowers and floral life. He wears the insignia of a Magnolia.
Finally, there is the mission-based outfit when working for his employers. This is where he trims his clothing short by the wrist and knees and he wears a thermal beneath his outfit. His hair is usually pinned back with a large flower-like pin to allow his hair to sweep to one side. The style is only different in the sense that it allows him to move more gracefully and swiftly compared to the extra long cut of the cloth he has at his feet. He wears sandals that are secured to his feet and woven from weathered wicker to be durable and thick.
::Personality::
He is...not that graceful.
Well, that is just a general thing about Hikari. When it comes to other things such as how he interacts, it is usually with some uncertainty. This is especially true when it comes to his Pokemon. Hikari usually prizes himself as a scholar rather than a trainer, making it so that he approaches battles and matters in the Pokemon world that is beyond simple curiosity. In truth, Hikari is starting to discover that Pokemon are more than just simply an extension of nature.
Until then, there are the usual traits about relationships as Hikari. He is not exactly “warm and fuzzy” when it comes to others. He actually prides himself on being studious and a researcher due to him studying with what he knows with his family. He can come off as reserved, as expected, when it comes to his wisdom and what he knows due to being oppressed. Thus, he can be silent and keep secrets when it comes to what he knows about Pokemon.
This does not mean Hikari does not treasure relationships due to being so reserved. He is actually quite lonely given his history with his family as well. Thus, he does not particularly know how to talk to anyone, and is too proud to admit he does not. Consistently, he may even push others away by proudly saying he does not need help, and doing so in an unconvincing manner. However, this betrays his style of how he raises his Pokemon as he tries to work formulas and incorporate each and every one of them. Hikari desires harmony and balance, but he does not know how to convey it beyond book sense.
With a hate for being vulnerable, Hikari often builds situations that prevent it. He will plan thoroughly and confidently in order to try to control things. This most likely is the result of his history of being vulnerable with his family only to have that situation betray him. To that end, he often tries to manipulate his surroundings so he will have the advantage; another trait that shows in his style of battle. Though, try as he might, things unravel as usual. When things become this way, a vulnerable and more unkempt side of Hikari shows.
Nonetheless, Hikari is not without his sensitive moments. When drawn from him, especially in special circumstances where the fears get to him, he can become very open about himself. Mostly, this is in the face of his past catching up to him or seeing something that reminds him of his old self. This can range from agitation of someone being naive or being saddened when someone actually has the ability to remind him of a bit of who he was (which is rare since he has migrated from place to place to escape that). Even if vulnerable at one point, do not look for it to be consistent. His pride keeps him from showing that face a lot.
::History::
“He has blood worth its weight in gold.”
That is what mom told me when I asked what she saw in my dad. I am not sure where to begin this story, but it is mostly because it is a strange one. But for you? The beginning is appropriate, yes? The “Tachibani” family has been alive for generations. It is said that we had been a part of the Pokemon World since the honorable houses of the Ransei Region. Seventeen kingdoms stretched across the entire continent with Pokemon who were either wild or under the command of a single Warlord who can tame them and take them into battle. Many people have relics from the past in the museums. They call them the Regalia of Ransei: pieces that let us know that we were once alive in a feudal era.
Centuries ago, Ransei…
My family, the Tachibani, was an estranged house. Many people believed that my house was nonexistent because my great ancestor, Koshōshō, was a strong and powerful woman who did not rule a “Kingdom '' exactly due to her not being bound to a husband or lover for long. She did however estranged herself from an ancestor who was supposed to be my father, but there is no telling. The stories say she was beautiful and wielded Pokemon that were as elegant as she was. Thus, my family has been written in the records of them having a nestled part of the world called Faewood, between the kingdoms of Fontaine and Greenleaf, a fabled part littered with Fairy-Type Pokemon.
Fairy-Type Pokemon were said to be as elusive as my ancestor, but I suppose that is why they are fitting, yes?
But about my great, great, and even greater grandmother; she was said to have led her clan of people who were my family through the lands. She had eventually been known as a rival to Kingdoms such as Nixstorm due to them both earning rights to be called Dragonslayers. So, apparently, my family has a history of bringing some of the strongest Pokemon down to the ground in defeat. Who knew? This rivalry had been one thing that led a small clan like Koshōshō’s to their inevitable dwindling….but not their extinction. Through other clans and kingdoms, their blood endured.
Centuries Later, Kanto…
My mother told me about my father’s value when I just happened to inquire about love and relationships. Sure, I knew my mom was not the type to ask about this, but I absolutely wanted to know! My mom had always been someone who was withdrawn and did not talk about anything. She cared about the business she had more than she cared for her family. BaniBani Pharmaceuticals was based on my dad’s surname, the name of the surviving clan of Ransei from centuries ago. Using my father’s name, his connections, and her genius; she had built a company from nothing in order to be a brand.
Now, about dad? He did not really care what my mother thought. Even more, he supported her and her...ways? Yes. Ways! My mother’s way was to incite hysteria and sell the next products for Pokemon to consume. My father’s way was to show loyalty to an underground organization: Team Rocket. Both of them took advantage of the name Tachibani and continued to escalate their motivations. While mother was selling drugs and medicines, father was busy using our family’s history and knowledge to use his skills in order to climb the ranks of Team Rocket and conquer. Eventually, that stopped long ago when someone, I heard a child, stopped Team Rocket’s progression in Kato, but the details escaped me.
Me on the other hand? Hikari Tachibani, was subjected to schools of the highest caliber. I was limited from experiencing certain things such as television and casual delights of sweets unless they were prepared by a chef. I would spend time reading books, studying, and being cared for by the house hand that spent time overlooking my every movement. I remembered taking certain lessons like fencing, fighting, and learning to be an equestrian riding around on Ponyta when I was little. Little contact was spent unless it was competing. I suppose, in a way, I became an outstanding individual, yes?
Though I learned other things, yes? I would learn that love was not exactly absolute as I would see my Father and Mother having bouts when together. My father, in my younger years, was certain about what he did with that organization because he believed it was right! Kanto Region and the other regions of the world belonged to the Tachibani family by conquest alone, and he believed that Team Rocket was a means to uniting all the world! Even if it meant taking away all the Pokemon, then the Tachibani Family would acquire all the land and the forces! That stuck with me as the history books did talk about how the Kingdoms, at one point, desired to rule and take the world for their own. However, father did not talk about the other chapters much.
Not until later…
A Decade Later, Johto…
It had not been until a decade, perhaps, that father showed different signs of change. Five years into the arguing, my mother moved us to Johto to “evade my father’s foolishness” as she said. I did get to see more places along the way. I visited a vast romantic region of Kalos, a beautiful flourishing paradise like Alola, and then would come back to my new home of Johto in order to settle down. It was during this time that my father had visited even less and less. His duties kept him away and mother’s fury would reach new heights. She would insist that her son, myself, would not be weak. Not like my father.
My mother at this time had her behavior change.
With my father gone for so long, she started to train me like a well raised Furfrou! Pokemon Battling had an art and a discipline! Any Pokemon that was placed in my hand was Fairy, Grass, or Water-type as they insisted it was my legacy. I was trained in strategies around those Pokemon as well as told that the Fairy Pokemon were my emblem as a Dragonslayer, or whatever she would say. My silly mother! She would hound me restless hours until I sweat, bled, and (eventually) cried. My father did not know of this because...he never came?
Oh well...there were always parties.
I had become as cultured as possible and been taken to these “oh-so” elegant parties. I would catch many eyes and bow before others as I was presented as “Tachibani Hikari,” a relic of the past by name. I was even offered to a number of people to have an arranged marriage, but...none of them I was enthused about. There was one, however, that I could not evade. No matter how I raised my objections to mother, no matter how much I lowered my head, no matter how much I cried. Eventually, I knew it was to come.
Present Day…
Over the course of the month, my mother sailed to regions, as it became apparent to me why she devoted her time to studying medicines and growing her company. She wanted to be invincible! Growing empires in Celadon City where plants were in abundance. Her expression never shifted to one of sadness or discontent as it grew wide with each domination and monopolization. It was then she would come to the next region...this region!
My mother had promised my hand to someone within Team Rocket. Someone who would unify a marriage between myself and her to garner power within the organization and retain it while also promising another grunt to them: one that had the Tachibani name. Over time, I had questioned things of my mother about this arrangement. To which she would reply that Team Rocket needed someone! They needed something to fill the talent my father brought but excuse his insolence that came later that they would have to be rid of.
It was then I knew my father no longer walked the Earth.
There were many stories about my father: some say that he was a traitor! Others say that he lost his spine! One peculiar story was that he “found a secret” about the name of Tachibani. It was one that caused him to change his mind and regain his honor. Whatever it meant, it had no place in Team Rocket, and I knew then that someone as young as myself had no place to bring in arguing or resistance. So I would bow my head in silence, hoping that Team Rocket, or whatever my mother desired of them, made the best of her questionable parenting that was a bargain of my body and soul to some woman. Eventually, she would hopefully get her foot hold in this new land.
Not a care or soul kept her from using her son as a bargaining chip.
How did I feel about it? Was I sad? Was I thrilled? Did I loathe the destiny she traded and robbed me of my name? Well...to be honest? I am not sure. My ancient name, my deceased father who is a victim of his heart and choices, and then my own little life lived as a pawn? All of this happened so fast! How fast?
I cried out in protest for it all to stop!
As punishment, my mother and Team Rocket saw fit to make sure I never opened my mouth without consequence. My Pokemon, who relied on strength and one another, were forced to be released or else they would suffer a cruel punishment! My only friend, my faithful Buneary, was assaulted in an endless battle for me speaking out against my mother’s plans. My status? It meant nothing as I was reduced to being nothing but a servant; a hand in using my family’s research for the sake of this wicked organization’s monopoly into this new region.
Now I am trapped here in this captivity of false marriage and an empty love.
::Goals & Mod Permissions::
Hikari, although not aware of his goal, is to find friendship. Lonely, he acts out of the service of Team Rocket and their miniscule monopoly extends into the region. Thus, he fulfills duties of capturing rare and exotic Pokemon to place in the ranch of a “certain” executive. His job and engagement is also his prison to keep him in line so that the organization will take advantage of his research and abilities. Hikari, in his deepest recesses of his heart, would like to break away from this oppression.
Moderation may create scenarios that include wild Pokemon appearing in areas that are either being disturbed by malicious organizations, by shady characters, and NPC Trainers that are of the malevolent variety.
