Breeding Guide One of a rancher's main jobs is to focus on raising Pokemon for their health and happiness rather than for battles or contests (although they can certainly choose to participate in those as well). They are also the world's leading breeders of Pokemon, and these guidelines help them to do just that: - Pokemon that wish to have an egg together must be in the same Egg Group. Having an egg should be consensual between the role-players, the ranchers, and the Pokemon.
- Genderless Pokemon are able to breed within their Egg Group as opposed with just a Ditto. On a similar note, Nidorina and Nidoqueen can breed in the Monster and Field egg groups.
- Pokemon may not breed until they are at least 5 levels old, although the stronger they are, the better the eggs will be.
- Sibling, cousin, and other family related Pokemon may not breed together.
- Fade to black in regards to the actual breeding process -- keep the site's rating in mind!
- Once the Pokemon breed, the rancher will fill out a Clutch Request form. A staff member will roll the stats of the clutch, including the number of eggs, the genders, the species of the baby Pokemon, and how many posts it will take for the egg(s) to hatch, and PM the results to the RPer of the parent Pokemon to do with the eggs as they wish.
- If the parent Pokemon are from different ranches, the owner of the mother Pokemon generally pays the rancher of the father Pokemon a stud fee and the eggs will remain on the mother Pokemon's ranch. The role-players can come to their own agreements, of course, such as a smaller fee with the promise of an egg from the clutch.
- The mother Pokemon must wait at least two weeks after she has a clutch of eggs before attempting to breed again, although it is recommended to wait longer so she recovers her full strength.
- If the number of eggs in a clutch exceeds the amount of space available on the owner's ranch or the trainer's/coordinator's team, it is the owner's responsibility to find the extra eggs good homes, whether by selling, gifting, or donating to the Adoption Center.
- Eggs take a specific amount of posts to hatch, usually dependent on their species' rarity. Members must mention the egg in their post in order for the post to count toward the hatching process. If the character has another Pokemon with the abilities Flame Body or Magma Armor and posts with the Pokemon hanging out with the egg, the one post counts as two, potentially cutting the hatching time in half.
- Any additional questions or comments should be directed via PM to a staff member.
