"Oh, please be careful, Elan...!" Morgan watched as her Ralts used his Psychic move to pull a cookie jar full of treats closer to the edge of the counter. She dove over to the counter, catching the cookie jar before it could topple onto the ground. The Ralts looked up at her sheepishly as Morgan pushed the jar further back. "No cookies now. You've had plenty to keep you full until dinner."

"Ralll..." The Ralts' head drooped and he trudged out of the kitchen. He seemed to be fine after Forge barreled past, shouting enthusiastically until Elan playfully chased after him. Morgan shook her head and returned to the book she had on her table.

Getting comfortable again, Morgan continued to read about the Aron evolutionary line. While Oria and her species weren't completely foreign to Morgan, they weren't native to Unova. The evolutions were going to be quite heavy creatures... Oria was fairly obedient, and Morgan only hoped that she would retain that characteristic as she grew.

Morgan winced as she heard a small crash come from the living room but, after listening for a few more minutes and hearing soft coos from Elan and Forge, concluded that no one was hurt and stayed sitting by her kitchen table. She was at the point with her Pokemon that no noise was suspicious and she wasn't worried about disasters every time there was a sound.

She glanced back at her book regarding Aron and their evolutions, which made her mind wander to other Steel-type Pokemon and, in effect, the Pokemon that she had on her ranch now. Morgan supposed she should go and expand her ranch, either by catching other Pokemon or raising her own Pokemon until they had clutches of their own. The other ranchers on the island had a few species that she was definitely interested in, but she needed to make money herself first.

Briefly, she wondered if any of her females would be interested in having a clutch or two...

The weather was starting to turn just a bit chilly, and Avalyn wasn't sure if it was due to the season starting to change or because she was getting closer to the White Tops. She supposed it could be both.

The weather in particular wasn't bothering her too much. In fact, Ava was psyched to see the mountain top, sure that it was absolutely beautiful and that her Flying-types would love to explore the skies up there. At the moment, she only had Echo out, the Chatot keeping up with her with his short wings, along with a double backpack to hold her two newest eggs. Both of the eggs were nestled together in the pockets behind her, and Ava guessed that she may look a bit silly. However, she was on a ranch that was dedicated to raising Pokemon and eggs, so she should fit right in.

"How ya holding up, Echo?" Ava asked as the Chatot decided to perch atop of his trainer's head. Guessing that was as good of an answer as any, Ava glanced around at where she had paused and noticed she was right outside of a ranch called Silverstone Valley. After a moment's debate, she walked slowly up the pathway, curious as to the Pokemon and ranchers that were around. "Uh, hello...?"

Morgan raised an eyebrow slowly as she thought she heard something come from outside. Not from any of her Pokemon, no... This was a human's voice, and one she didn't recognize at that.

Elan suddenly came darting back into the kitchen, apparently having heard the strange voice as well, and dove under the table by Morgan's eggs. Forge had come running back as well, but her more social Chimchar instead went straight to the screen door, doing his best to spot whoever had spoken. With a cheerful cry of his name, Forge waved enthusiastically to the stranger on Morgan's land.

Some guard her Fire-type was.

Morgan, after gently pushing Ralts off her leg, stood up and went outside to see a young, redheaded woman on the pathway toward her house. "Hello? Um, hi. Can I help you?"

"Oh, hi!" Avalyn waved cheerfully at the brunette that appeared in the doorway (after waving to the very friendly Chimchar, of course). "Uh, sorry, I don't mean to bother you or gate-crash or anything... Gosh, I probably seem creepy, heh."

That probably didn't help at all. Even Echo seemed to roll his eyes.

Ava instead cleared her throat. "Let me start over. Hi, I'm Avalyn Glasse. I was just wandering around, saw your lovely ranch, and am very nosy. I was just curious as to the kind of Pokemon you raise and all.

"My brother Bryar is a rancher on the island too," Ava continued. "I dunno if you know him, he's in charge of Wildrose Orchards? Lots of Grass-types running around? I knew Kurt, Raphael, and Kris from the old, smaller Gaia Ranch back in Sinnoh."

She took a deep breath. "So, nice to meet you! Sorry if I'm interrupting anything, I can go if I am, no problem."

Morgan raised an eyebrow at the redhead's rambling. She nodded encouragingly to the girl's idea to start over her introduction. Her bold statements made Morgan's lips twitch into a smile, the redhead reminding Morgan of her own sister.

"I'm Morgan Porter," Morgan introduced herself. "Why don't you come in? Would you like something to drink? I was about to make more tea. Perhaps your Pokemon would like a drink as well?" Her eyes darted to the colorful bird Pokemon sitting atop Avalyn's head.

Morgan led the way into the kitchen, Forge bouncing around excitedly and Elan sticking close to her, and gestured for her guest to take a seat while Morgan heated up the kettle. "I'm afraid I don't know Bryar," Morgan admitted, thinking of how little of the other ranchers she knew. Really, the only ones she had interacted with were Kristen and Nitrine. She should probably fix that. "His ranch sounds lovely, though. Perhaps I'll make a plan to visit, if he's not the type to mind.

"Was your brother the reason why you visited the island?" Morgan asked.

"Oh, thank you." Ava followed Morgan into the house. "It's very nice to meet you. This is Echo, my Chatot." Ava gestured to Pokemon, who cooed a greeting, on her head. Smiling at the Chimchar and shy Ralts, Ava added, "It's nice to meet you two as well."

Ava thanked Morgan for the tea and smiled sheepishly when Morgan asked about Bryar. "Uh, no, actually," Ava admitted, "but coming to see Bryar would have been the more logical reason to visit the island, wouldn't it? I mean, he was in my plans when I decided to come to the island, but it was mostly as a break from my everyday travels. That, and I wanted to see what was around the island. I met with Kris and got a couple of awesome eggs out of the deal." She gestured to the eggs that were on her backpack.

"How long have you been a rancher?" the redhead asked.

"I'm sorry," Morgan said, realizing she hadn't introduced the Pokemon she had with her. "The Chimchar is Forge while Elan is my Ralts."

The brunette chuckled at Avalyn's apparent bashfulness at not thinking to come to the island just to visit her brother. Avalyn appeared to be a traveler and showed off the eggs that she had gotten from Kristen.

"Oh, those are pretty eggs," Morgan said, admiring the silver, grays, and reds of the shells. "What kind of Pokemon are they?

"So, you're a traveler?" Morgan asked. "Where have you gone? I'm from the Unova region, around Icirrus City to be exact. Have you ever been?"

When Avalyn asked how long Morgan had been a rancher, Morgan took a moment to form her response. "Not too long, really," she said. "Less than a year, but I've been doing pretty well. I've got a handful of wonderful Pokemon to keep me company on here, and we're growing every day."

Ava chuckled when Morgan introduced her Pokemon, and gave the pair another wave for good measure. Echo hopped from Ava's head to the edge of the table and gave the Chimchar and Ralts a little bow for a greeting.

"Aren't they?" Ava agreed when Morgan complimented the eggs. She brought them around front and onto her lap. Pointing to the mostly silver egg, the one with a touch of pink near the top, she said, "This will be a Woobat, and the one with the red with be a Fletchling. I train Flying-types, and once I saw Kristen's Swoobat and Talonflame, I thought it'd be awesome to train a couple of my own. What about you? What kind of Pokemon do you train around here? Fire and Psychic?" She glanced down at Forge and Elan.

"I'm from Sinnoh," Ava said, "but I've also traveled through Johto, even worked at Violet City's Flying-type gym for a while. Have you ever been?

"I haven't gone to Unova, yet," she added with a smile. "What was your hometown like?"

She suddenly snapped her fingers. "Oh, hey, if you're from Unova, you must know about Woobat then, right? I mean, that's where they're from, right? Any tips on raising one, if you have any?"

Ava turned her smile to Morgan's Pokemon for a moment. "Even if you have been going at it less than a year, you seem to be doing really well. Your Pokemon look happy!"

Morgan listened with rapt attention as Avalyn explained the eggs. Woobat was a familiar species to the Unova-native, but the Fletchling she had never encountered before.

Ava asked about Morgan's specialties, and Morgan replied, "Well, Psychic-, Ice-, and Steel-types, actually. Forge was a happy bonus." She smiled down at the Chimchar, who grinned back up at her. "Flying-types sound fantastic, though. Is it difficult to keep them close by?" She gazed at Echo curiously. "Have they ever just decided to... I don't know, fly off?"

Impressively, Avalyn had traveled through a few regions, even having some time in a gym. Morgan felt Elan jump against her legs when the redhead suddenly snapped her fingers, and Morgan gave Ava a sheepish smile at the question.

"Um, I know of Woobat, of course," Morgan said. "They're fairly common around Unova. However, I've never had the pleasure of raising one myself.

"Thank you," Morgan said warmly to Avalyn's praise. Glancing at the Chatot, she added, "I'm sure your Pokemon are happy where they are as well. Echo here especially looks marvelous!"

"Damn," was Ava's eloquent response to Morgan's type specialties. "That sounds like a challenging mix! What made you pick those types, if you don't mind me being nosy?"

She chuckled at Morgan's question regarding flying Pokemon. "Well, not really," Ava said, sharing a fond glance with Echo. "When they're young, they can't fly too far without getting tired, so it's easier to keep an eye on them. By they time they get older, they're pretty used to a trainer, so their loyalty keeps them around.

"Really?" Ava asked with a tilt of her head upon hearing that Morgan had never raised a Woobat before. "Huh. They are part Psychic-type, you know. I'm sure Kristen has a couple of more eggs in her shop, if you ever had the thought to raise one."

She beamed as Echo preened with Morgan's praise. "Thank you," Ava said warmly. "Echo here has been by my side for years. He was my first Pokemon when I first started training."

Morgan gave Ava a sheepish smile. "They're not so bad," she said of her preferred types. "I grew up in Icirrus City in Unova, a place known for its cold winters, so I got used to Ice-types being around. Psychic- and Steel-types were just others that I tended to like."

Ava spoke of Flying-types loyalty and Morgan shared the other young woman's chuckle at the thought of baby bird Pokemon fluttering around and going nowhere fast.

"They are?" Morgan tilted her head in thought at the idea of raising a Woobat. "I never thought of them as such. That's an interesting idea..." Although Morgan would need to be sure that she had enough room on her ranch. She would love for her own Pokemon to have a couple of eggs of their own, and to care for a newborn part Flying-type on top of that may be a bit much.

"Your first?" Morgan directed her smile at Echo. "Did you get him from Sinnoh's professor?"

"Well, can't go wrong with raising your preferred types," Avalyn said. "Is Icirrus City near the mountains or something? Are there mountains in Unova?"

Perhaps Avalyn would visit Unova next.

Ava glanced down at her Woobat egg. "I'm sure they'll be fun to raise," she said. "And if you do buy a Woobat egg, we can plan playdates with the siblings, haha! My Skarmory can come too, being the father and all."

Their talk turned back to Echo. "Well, no, I got Echo from my parents," Ava said. "I don't think Professor Rowan really approved, actually, considering Echo had been a wild Pokemon rather than being raised to prepare for a trainer, heh. But, hey, it all worked out and Echo's been a sweetheart.

"What about you?" Avalyn asked, directing her gaze toward Forge and Elan. "Who was your first Pokemon?"

"No, you can't," Morgan agreed, stealing another glance at Echo. "Icirrus City is close to Twist Mountain, but it's more situated above a swampy area. It got so cold during the winter there... The weather around here last winter wasn't too bad if I compared it to Icirrus!"

Morgan smiled when Ava laughed after suggesting Woobat playdates. "That wouldn't be such a bad idea," she said, mulling over the thought.

"A Skarmory?" Morgan echoed. "I'm sure he's beautiful! Where did you find a Skarmory, if I may ask?"

The brunette chuckled at the idea of a Pokemon professor disapproving of a starter Pokemon. As a response to Ava's question, Morgan said, "Vivi my Gothita was my first, technically. I'm not quite sure where she is at the moment... Probably outside somewhere with my other Pokemon. I grew up around my parents' Pokemon, but they gifted Vivi to me when I decided to come try ranching.

"What made you decide to raise Flying-types?" Morgan asked.
