Hey little brother! How's the ranch and island and all that fun stuff going? A bit different having your own space instead of that little ranch you used to live on with a million other people and their Pokemon?
Speaking of which, got a question for ya. I recently somehow inherited a Chikorita that I am calling Maia. Basically, my question is what do I do with her? I'm going to take care of her, obviously, planning on having her as a powerhouse back-up for whenever my Fire-types happen to meet something that can shoot water outta its mouth. Considering my background with Pokemon training, though, I'm not quite sure what to feed the girl.
I mean, I assume I feed her, right? She does have a big-ass leaf on her head, so maybe she just photosynthesizes? I really don't know.
In other news, ya hear from either of the twins? Ava decided to leave Violet's gym! I can't freaking believe it! Says she's going to travel around more, see what kind of Flying-types she'll meet and all that. Good for her, of course, I'm always up for exploration, but I never thought she'd let go of the gym after earning it.
Heard Murray is fishing around Kanto. Think he's still around the area where he had gotten a brand new Squirtle. I have no idea how he could sit still for so long. Much like you, Green Thumb, planting your roots in one spot and all that.
Alright, I'll quit with the puns. Get back to me soon, yeah? Especially for Maia's sake so she can, you know, eat.

Dear Tyson,
My first instinct is to tell you to send me the Chikorita, I'll take care of her. However, I must commend you to think to ask me about caring for a Grass-type.
Some Grass-type species do photosynthesis, such as Chikorita. On that note, Chikorita cannot live on sunlight alone. You should be able to get a decent brand of Grass-type food from most pokemarts. Be sure to get a type that's rich in vitamin D. She'll also need to have a steady supply of fresh water, as most Pokemon do if they're not part Water-type. Heat will also help her grow. As long as they don't shoot flames at her, Maia should be fairly comfortable in your Fire-types' company. If you have any other questions about her, let me know.
My ranch is doing well, thank you. I have plenty of room for all my Pokemon and more are being added to the ranch all the time.
I haven't heard from Ava just yet, and I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not to hear that she left the gym. She was always like you, running from place to place. If she could fly, she'd never come back down to the ground! I'm sure she'll find what she's looking for someday.
Murray and I quite enjoy taking our time, thank you. Slow and steady wins the race and all that.
Talk to you soon! Best of luck!
Love, Bryar

Oh, c'mon, I'm not that bad! Not with having grown up with you all my life!
Alrightie, I picked up some food that boasts it's fantastic for Grass-types, with all sorts of nutrient-y sounding ingredients. Ever hear of the brand Greenies? Is that a good one? Or, rather, is it decent? Traveling trainers like myself don't make that much money, so, hopefully this brand will be decent for Maia. She seems to like it, anyway.
I'm thinking of trying to find a Water-type around Kalos as well, you know, keep my team a little more well-rounded. Maybe if I can't find any good ones around here, I'll pop over and visit your island! I'm sure one of you ranchers has a Water-type or two, right? Or maybe I'll bother Murray, haha!
Thanks again for the advice. Keep in touch, Bro!

Oh Tyson,
I know, I know, you've grown quite a bit as a trainer. I've learned much from you as well.
Greenies isn't that bad at all. For a group that's going to be on the move, I'd say it was a good choice for yourself and Maia. On that note, you know the most nutritious food is usually the most expensive, but the least tastiest for Pokemon. It's like when Mom and Dad tried to get you to eat cauliflower as a kid. Greenies is a good middle-of-the-road brand with enough healthy stuff in it for Maia. Glad she likes it!
I'm sure Kalos has some interesting Water-types around. If not, there are a couple of ranches around here that specialize in Water-types, like Kurt. I know Kristen has a couple of Water-types as well on her ranch. Or, of course, there's always Murray. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to hear from you!
No problem whatsoever with the advice. Glad to know you're doing well!
Love, Bryar
