The Skwovet literally charged into the Pokeball when it was attempting to do another Tackle to Mesa. Perhaps caught off-guard, the Pokeball only shook once before stilling with the capture.

Sadie sighed when the Pokeball stilled. Picking it up, she said to Mesa, "I meant for us to sneak away."

Mesa huffed but didn't seem to care much, not even when Sadie returned the Phanpy to her pokeball. Sadie supposed that was normal. Mesa got a little more experience and the Skwovet was caught. Sadie would probably put the Skwovet into her PC, let it run around and be cared for back at Professor Cypress's facilities, rather than keep it on her team. The shiny coat was cool, but she already had a Normal-type Pokemon on her team.

Speaking of which, Sadie wondered what level the first gym leader's Pokemon would be at...

But first, Sadie needed to return the backpack to the little girl.

"Here you go," Sadie said once she returned to the Pokemon Center and found the girl again. "Uh... Think the Skwovet took a lot of berries, though. That's probably why it took the bag in the first place."

She kept mum about having caught the Skwovet. She didn't want the kid to try to make her pay back for the berries.

The girl had just been sitting outside of the Pokemon Center, waiting dutifully for Sadie to return, for better or for worse. She beamed when she saw Sadie arriving while carrying her backpack.

"That's it, that's it! You got it back!" The girl ran up to Sadie and eagerly grabbed the pack. She deflated a touch when Sadie mentioned the missing berries, but eventually shrugged.

"It was probably just hungry," the girl muttered as she dug around her pack. She sighed with visible relief when she found her Pokemon's pokeball, then grinned back up at Sadie.

"Thanks again!" she said. "For helping me out, here. You can have this Exp. Candy L or..." She took a moment to dig further around her backpack. "This Sharp Beak. Which one do you want?"

Sadie gave the kid a small smile as the girl kept thanking her for retrieving her backpack.

"No problem," Sadie said. "Just be sure to hang onto it from now on."

Sadie was going to decline the reward, really -- after all, what could the kid actually have in her backpack that would interest Sadie? -- but then the girl offered her a choice. An Exp. Candy, the large size at that, would be useful in giving one of her Pokemon a boost, but the Sharp Beak could be helpful in the long run...

"If you're serious," Sadie said after a moment's thought, "I could use the Sharp Beak." Eventually, she was sure. A Flying-type would probably make its way onto her team at some point.

After making sure the girl was positive in giving up her Sharp Beak -- Sadie felt a little bad taking a decent hold item from a kid -- Sadie said, "Thank you, then. Take care."
